Boogaloos Comp - Sat 28 June
This is where we'll be Saturday and in the famous lyrical words of Bad Religion we urge you to "come join us".

Greg China Pics
Greg sent us some pics from his China trip. Actions speak louder than words so...

No Hander at the X-Games Park

These two are from the famous SMP Park. This park is scary big.

Wayne
James Brawn sent us through this pic of Wayne sessioning a wallride form the weekend. He told us that the wall is set back like three metres from the bank and that Wayne is" too good" and we agree.

This past weekend in Joburg we all participated in the Master of Dirt show. We had an awesome but due to having to ride we didn't get any pics ourselves, however we are gonna be sourcing some from some friends soon, so check back for that update. Word!

Masters of Dirt and an Ozzy
Next weekend we will all be heading out to the Ruimsig Sports Stadium to participate in the Masters of Dirt show, we'll be doing dirt demos. The show looks to be insane and incorporates BMX, FMX, Quads, Mini Bikes and apparently even snowmobiles plus of course scantilly clad ladies. Tickets are R250 (you can get them from The Riot). When will you get to see some of FMX's best riders like Brian Deegan, Ronnie Renner, Remi Bizourd and Sick Nick in SA again? It's gonna be wild and fire is guaranteed so splash out and come join in on the festivities.

Two days ago an Ozzy named Damien arrived to hang out with us. He is busy on his annual four month world trip with so many stops we couldn't list them all. Turns out he also films for Soul BMX video mag. We have been having a good time with this black label guzzling bloke and been taking him to some spots. Yesterday we headed off to Troyville Bowl in the middle of town.

When did you ever see one of these on SA soil... We're guessing never. No footed Canadian. Damien wrote the lip tricktionery. He has so many variations of things that you just don't get bored of seeing him goof off. Yeah, he knows how to have fun riding.

"Here get a shot of my good side" - Damien

"You gonna love this one, I'll try get it first go", and he did.

One handed X-Up tyre-tap.

Tweaked No Footed Canadian.

Greg decided he needed to get radically old school.

And Tyrone figured he'd get in front of the camera and let Greg drive it.

The locals were psyched too, well maybe not so much the dude in green.

Then they got 50cent on our ass.

The Lesser Spotted Flatlander
Over the past weekend Colin Loudon, Tyrone Bradley and Brad Illingworth did a demo at Bedfordview Primary School's fete. They took the Mongoose / Red ramp with them and performed three half hour shows through the day. The response was really good and kids started queing to ride on their bikes.

Whilst riding they were approached by a guy named Dino Jeffers who told them that he also rode BMX but was into flatland. Turns out he was from Ireland and is now living in SA. Ironically his sister married a Robert Illingworth. Today Dino sent us through some pics of himself riding. It always good to meet up with riders randomly and we hope to see Dino around more often. Absorb his handlebars... on his face... what a legend!

If we knew anything about flatland we'd tell you what these tricks are called, but guess what...

He also let us know that SABC 3 are airing an interview with him this Sunday 8 June at 12 o'clock about flatland. Make sure to watch it.

100th Post - Menlyn Skatepark
We've just hit the 100th website post of the new site. Yee Ha! and when you think that we only went live with it pretty much exactly one year ago it means we have averaged a new post every third day, proof that BMX is rocking in SA.

On Thursday last week a few of us heading up to Pretoria to ride the Menlyn Skatepark. The park has been there for four months and we were complete bafoons for not having gone sooner. The park is awesome. It has it all - spine ramp, box jump, big quarters and other nib jibs. Think of Pro Ramp parks and you know exacltty how good the set-up is.

Early on in the session Greg started getting things done like this 360 transfer from spine to box launch. Just to left of this photo there are a bunch of seats set-up like an auditorium and needless to say Greg started getting some butts in them.

The park also has some floodlights which is great for winter as you can ride till they close at 7pm. Devin has been getting footjam whips dialed and here he is on the steep bank with a killer one.

Greg was blasting the quarters and tucking no handers like this one for so long.

Here he is again just closer and higher up. Gossip is that Greg was posing with no top, a fury leopard print jacket with some half naked sheila feeling him up for the Masters of Dirt feature Locally Whipped is running. Make sure you get your hands on that issue when it comes out.... it's hot! We'll have more info on the Master of Dirt Comp soon. It's gonna be wild so make sure to keep 21/22 June clear. That's it for our first post of June. The ice monsters a comin!!!
