NEWS LINKS: Happy New Year from Lucky Swine | Warwick Cam | Pro X Extreme Games and Team Update

26 January 2009

Pro X Extreme Games
It's event time again! This time it's Pro X, and it's happening at the V & A Waterfront in Cape Town on 7 and 8 February. The guys from Recked Industries have made sure that 2009's event is going to be a good one. Riot team rider, Wayne Reiche from Durbanville was sort out to take care of over seeing the design and construction of what is set to be an awesome dirt setup. Wayne will also be riding in the event along with other top riders from around SA, including: Greg Illingworth, Tyrone Bradley, Colin Loudon, Buddy Chellan, Tim Dell and more. If you're in Cape Town over that weekend then make sure you get over the the waterfront!

Fox is taking their team riders, Colin Loudon, Tyrone Bradley and Buddy Chellan on a road trip from Durban to Cape Town for Pro-X. Along their way, they'll be stopping at randon spots to get some footy and shoot some pics. So keep your eyes peeled for that.

eClat Product update

When the last order from Wethepeople arrived, we received all the Salt and eClat goodies. Unfortunately, at that time, not all the eClat goodies were ready to ship. Those products are now in SA and will be in our store during the course of this week. Included in this batch of products are: front and rear (cassette) hubs, brake sets, brake levers and the new seat & post combo! As soon as these are in store, we'll post pics and prices. For now, we'll say this much: the hubs are a work of art!

Team update

Tyrone Bradley has decided that he needs change in his life, and had has decided to move back to Durban. He'll be staying in a flat in Umdloti with long time friend and fellow team rider, Jimmy Reynolds... the wheels turn! Ty's also been shooting a lot of pics of the JHB riders for a "secret" project that he's working on. In a short while, we'll be able to show some teasers!

Greg Illingworth has been riding a lot as usual, but he's also been editing tons of riding footage. Keep an eye out for a "mixed section" soon, as well as a Tim Dell web interview. Jimmy Reynolds is busy editing a belter of a web video of Greg. It's just about done, he's just waiting for a final batch of clips that Greg posted to him.

Tim Dell took much of last year off to ride. He's been having a ball of a time on his bike and at random JHB night spots such as Olive Lounge. Next month he's moving out of Krugerdorp and to his own flat in Linden... a little closer to Wits, where he'll commence his final year of aeronautical engineering. Rather him than me!

Jordan Anthony can be seen on most Wednesday nights flying ridiculously high and doing the craziest stuff into the foam pit at the Sunninghill skatepark. He's finally started taking some of that wildness to the box jump, it's going to get loose!

Warwick Cam
One of our firends, Warwick Preddy has got himself a new Nikon D90 and has been snapping away with it. He sent us through these pics of Byron and co riding in Alberton. Here's what he had to say:

"Got a new camera so been having some fun with it. Here are some pictures of the Purple Haze South Crew ( Warwick, Bryon and Barry ) with there endevours at Frontside skatepark in Alberton where they have taken all the old ramps from Westbank."

Happy New Year from Lucky Swine
Well we've all done it again, kicked through the saloon doors of 2008 and made our appearance into 2009 amidst the rumours that the world was gonna end.

On the 28th of December, the Lucky Swine crew hosted their not-so-annual Annual Lucky Swine Jam. Kendal and crew have been working really hard at the headquarters to get the trails running dialed. This year there were more jumps due the fact the the old scout hall (RIP) was torn down by the council because of the the wild shenanigans that down at the previous LS Jam... gotta love it! Unfortunately the trails were still a bit muddy from the rain the previous day, but some of the die hards still gave it a go.

Soon after most of the riders had kicked down to go ride the 'toti banks, the remaining Swiner's began to entertain themselves. Kendal playing with the local ant colony!

Friends, bikes and most importantly beer, that's the Lucky Swine way.

Same creed different angle.

Chris Barnes, mid set three.

Travis Cottril was one of the KZN locals that gave the muddy set his best.

Trynity who looks at home with a shovel, tried out a Mongoose Max on the holiday but the Mongoose ended up attacking her on the foot.

Butler jumps through the section pre spilling beer over Taco Zulu balcony onto unsuspecting girls sitting having dinner below.

David Boyter, un-turndown.

Shocking.
