The Ratchet hub is the current rear hub. You shouldn’t
call it a cassette, there is no cassette of cogs here, just a rock
solid one-piece driver. Every component has been designed from the
ground up to be as smooth and solid as possible. The 3 pawls and
ratchet ring are oversize, and because the driver and hub both run
on the famously stiff 20mm GSport axle, everything will always be
held in strict alignment. 3 independent long-travel springs keep
the tension. The spring and pawl retention system ensures optimum
alignment of pawls and drive ring, and keeps the hardware securely
in place during routine maintenance. The oversize ratchet ring with
patent pending square tooth profile makes for easy left/right drive
switching, with no extra parts and virtually no tools. New for 2010
will be a 3/8? aluminum axle for the Ratchet. Saving weight in the
most important place.
The most advanced Odyssey cranks to date are called the Twombolts.
These combine a handful of simple machines to create a simple and
strong crankset. They feature a true two-piece crank, one bolt configuration.
The unique wedge cluster is the heart of the system, and it addresses
all of the issues found on ordinary cranks. The wedge cluster design
optimizes the arm‚ interface, simplifies assembly, and makes
use of a durable and replaceable elastic retainer band. One problem
this interface eliminates is the ankle-biting, bolt-loaded chunks
of aluminum and steel found on pinch bolt cranks. Twombolts also
eliminate the difficult installations and seemingly endless loosening
and wobble issues found on archaic “hammer on/off” spline
designs.
The Twombolt’s feature an updated
mating arm lug for increased durability and improved fit with an
integrated, ultra-hollow 22 mm spindle that is nearly 17% stronger
than 19 mm versions. This increased strength is possible while also
managing to save a significant amount of weight. This weight savings
helps to put the Twombolt in the same category as three-piece cranks
that rely on weaker, expensive Titanium spindles. Twombolt’s
have greatly improved overall function and performance, proven both
in the lab and during extensive long-term riding. If you already
own the original Wombolts, the new Twombolt mating arms and wedge
clusters are compatible with existing Wombolt drive arms for seamless
replacement parts.
Odyssey intergrated headsets (black, and gold)R345
Odyssey Race fork CS2 R1395
The Race Fork Classic CS2 has a thinner steerer tube than
the Dirt Fork, 4mm tapered, 3/8 dropouts, and come in at 2 lbs.
1.8 oz., uncut steerer tube with pre-load bolt installed.
All Classic Forks share these features:
Butted and tapered “Race” .049 -.035 legs with improved
rail clearance. Tapered dropouts with optimal peg mounting clearance.
Butted steerer tube with redesigned crown junction. Flushmount,
cable friendly, 7075 pre-load bolt. Rustproof finishing, inside
and out, prior to powdercoating.
Sunday Morning ForkR1025
The Morning 2.1 fork is lighter and stronger than previous models
with an
improved pre-load bolt design that allows for simplified brake cable
and
headset adjustments, compatible with 6 and 8mm hexes. The legs are
butted from .049 to .035? and have multi-directional tapered tubing
with
end notching for improved rail clearance. The dropouts have optimal
peg
mounting clearance and rounded edges to help during grinds.
The Director Fork S2 is anything but classic. While the Director
Fork S2 may look different from what you are used to, the geometry
and feel are an identical match with traditional forks. The axle
is in the same position as it would be with a classic fork design.
The Director’s differences lie in the use of new construction
techniques, putting this fork in a league of its own. The steerer
tube is connected to the legs by using a joint design that is a
substantial improvement over ordinary tubular crown forks. The legs
have been angled forward so the hollow dropouts can blend smoothly
into the leg tubing, while also maintaining a “traditional”
axle position. By running the legs “directly” from where
the load is applied (at the steerer tube), to where it is reacted
against (at the wheel axle), the mechanical efficiency has been
maximized in this structure. The end result is improved performance
and durability. While this fork is still considered new to some,
The 2010 fork has already been improved over the original version.
The 3/8? hollow dropouts are formed from the leg itself, rather
than being a basic welded on plate that is left to “flap in
the breeze” like on a conventional fork. This design, combined
with a 10 mm thickness, makes bent dropouts a thing of the past.
The hollow dropouts are not only dramatically stronger, they are
lighter too.
While weighing in at less than most “racing specific”
chromoly forks (1 lbs. 15.6 oz. with uncut steerer tube and pre-load
bolt installed), the Director Fork is intended for use with every
style of riding.

Wayne Reiche We video
Wayne put this belter video together
of some footage he has collected over the past year or so... The banger
at the end is insane! Hope you enjoy!!!!
This past Saturday will go down in SA's BMX
history books as one of the most epic days ever! Tyrone Bradley
was on hand to shoot pics, they turned out amazing - typical TB
style! He was also kind enough to send us a little write up too:
"Halloween Jam
For years Wayne Reiche and crew have been spending countless
hours building and grooming what is possibly the most well known
set of trails in South Africa. Every international tour to South
Africa has made it’s stop at Gumtrails and not once has there
been a disappointment.
This year Halloween happened to fall on a Saturday and what
better way to celebrate the day than by getting all your friends
together in macabre attire and on bikes? Chuck in some sponsors
like Fox, DC, Lundun Sunglasses, The Riot and Dragons. Then get
Red Bull and Old School Productions on board to run the event and
you have a day to remember.. oh and don’t forget pumpkins
and spiderwebs.
The jam kicked off at 2pm on a perfect Cape Town spring afternoon
and ran through to six ‘o clock. The winners voted for by
each other by means of filling labelled cups with sand. Prices were
awarded for best run, best riding, best quarter pipe trick and then
just about anything that looked cool got some product that was on
offer.
The riding, as always, was spectacular. Long trains, gnarly
tricks, smooth style, mountainbikes and bmx, the works.
Every trick under the sun was thrown down. Malcolm taking care
of flares, three whips and double whips. Colin delivering double
cranked lookbacks, double whips and backflips. Buddy with the boost,
style and flow. Greg chucking in tricks over every jump and his
favourite seat grab nac nacs.
Highlight of the day has to go to Wayne Reiche for throwing
down another massive front flip on the do or die second last set.
Wayne was on fire. Winning his own event on home turf after nearly
not riding from the exhaustion of organising the whole thing.
In the end the pro purse went to Wayne Reiche for first Place,
Greg Illingworth second and Colin Loudon third.
The contest was a grand success and marks what will hopefully
be the first annual Halloween Jam. Thanks to everyone for the hard
work that paid off with an amazing event enjoyed by all. Fox was
proud to be associated and looks forward to number two."
