March 2010 Egypt Update
Greg sent us a little message on what they getting up to in Egypt...
"Egypt is so crazy and so awesome at the same time! Most of our days are spent hauling ass in and out of traffic trying to get to the next show on time. Tim joined us the other day to hang out and film for The Riot video... unfortunately we haven't had much time to ride street but should be getting a few days off soon.
A lot of the tourist stuff has already been covered and was unbelievable! We were inside a 4700+ year old pyramid shaped tomb that stands taller than most sky scrapers...!!!!!
Also drank beers on the Nile yesterday afternoon after the most insane demo I have ever done! The show was at Cairo University and required us to have body guards because the students were going so crazy! They have never seen anything like BMX or skating before so there reaction was pretty funny... they loved it to say the least.
Hope you enjoy the pics.
Ridaz!"
This is Colin getting Egyptian at The Great Pyramid of Giza
Tim has been helping out in the demos... much to Coiln and Greg's appreciation. Huge kick out.
It's not often you'll see Greg doing flips... let alone over a bunch of Egyptian dames.
The quarters are more like long trannied banks but Colin will always manage shred lookbacks.

March 2010 Some
down time
As most
of you know, Greg's in Egypt for a few weeks to do riding demos
and I have been handling orders while he's away. Tomorrow I am off
to the Cape to work for Shimano at the Epic MTB race. Unfortunately,
we cannot process any orders until I am back. We apologise for the
inconvenience and appreciate your understanding in this matter.
I will be back on Monday the 29th March.
In the mean time, enjoy the pics (below) from Pro X 2010!

X 2010
We
know this is late, but our photograpaher was only able to get us
photos this soon and we say better late than never.
This years ProX in Cape Town had a few problems, like the pool for the wakeboarding breaking and the skateboard mini not having a coping. This bummed some of the dudes really looking forward to the event but the BMX, well, it was epic!
The jump set-up was so fun with an awesome hip to left on the third, after which you had a roller into a trick jump. The second jump saw most of the action though, with Wayne Reiche making it his bitch. 4 Frontflips all pulled clean.
First place went to The Riots very own Malcolm Peters. The Skilpad was dialed for the whole weekend and walked away with a much deserved win.
Second place was Stuwey Loudon who was smooth criminal. He showed what steez a lanky cowboy can flow with and was a sight for dusty eyes.
Third was snatched up Greg. The Leopard got himself nicely warmed up for Egypt over the weekend. Lofting high, smooth and laying down some cheeky tricks.
That made up top three. Here is a collection of images from the event featuring riders like Wayne Reiche, Zandy, Superfly (NY), Buddy Chellan, Colin Loudon and Stuart Laing.
And to wrap up, here are your podium finishes!
05 March 2010 Colin
And Greg going to Egypt!
Colin
Loudon and Greg Illingworth will be in Cairo from 8March until 10
April doing demos for Mountain Dew.
They will be shooting tons of photos and filming a bunch
too. So you can expect some updates right here on The Riot!
While Greg is there if you need to
place an order you can still do that by calling 0848729339
or email sales@theriot.co.za. It might take a day or 2
longer but you will still get your stuff.

02 March 2010 Weekend
Photo Feature
This
past weekend was another absolute Riot! No sessions were planned
in advance, just a few calls each morning and huge sessions followed.
This is how it went down.
SATURDAY
On
Saturday we headed to the spot that always provides... WIts!
First spot we rode was the bank/sub/hip.
Jean 180 Tuck.
Duncan Fox has mad tables
Hannes - 180 bars spin
Ricky Rodrigues putting his brakes to good use.
Hannes - 180 table
Next spot was this interesting roof drop
Hannes fired out one of the bangers of the day with this hop 270
over the sign and into the bank.
Duncan - crankflip
Greg Ice to hop over.
Same trick, different angle.
After the roof drop we headed to the other side of campus to ride
the steep bank.
The drop on the other side of that ledge that Duncan crankflipped
off is about 4 stories down! He did this perfect first try and 3
times in a row.
This is a super fun fly out and I think
on this day it saw more action than ever before. Hannes killed this
spot. Here he is with a 3 table.
This is pretty funny. Tim knew Jean
was gonnna do a no hander so he copied him.
Tim - Turndown...
TK Brawler - footjam whip
Hannes - invert
SUNDAY
A bunch of us from Randburg side headed all the way across town
to the east rand for some fresh spots and new dudes to ride with...
Little did we know what a treat the day was going to be. We all
met up at Steven's house where he has a super dialed ramp set up.
It was soon very clear that most of the guys that were there were
locals. With in seconds of arriving everyone was shredding.
Greg - 360 tuck no hander
Alex - turndown
Hannes - bar spin
Leeroy - 360 invert
Tim - Xup
Alex - no foot can
Casualty
Justin getting cheeky with this Xfactor
Greg - nac nac seat grab
We could have stayed there all day with the amount of good riding
that was going down. We rather decided to head over to the local
trails. Once again everyone went straight into bad ass runs through
the fun little 6 pack.
Leeroy - huge whip
Greg - 180 on the last jump
Hannes - table
Steven - Unturndown
Tim - 360 Xup
Justin - Tuck no hander
Brad - Turndown
Donovan - flip
Byron - Turndown
There should be a new name for Tim's turndowns...
The session ended with everyone getting in on some train action...
Justin spreading his wings mid train.
A huge thanks must go out to Steven for letting us ride his ramp
and to all the dudes that rode with us and build at those trails.
There are tons more pics from the weekend on our facebook page so
head over to The
Riot on Facebook to see the rest.
